Guys & Gals, there are many ways to skin a cat, so which one is the best?
I always start with the cheapest method, and work my way up to the most expensive.
Deep fat frying is the furthest I got, which is option 4 - nice & crispy, but smells awful.
Hiring a taxidermist is a last resort - all the cost and none of the kudos.

Easiest & cheapest requires them naturally fresh, but although worth a try - it is not always possible.
Cheapest way for Ice#2 might have been a long shot, but lots of kudos & professional envy had it worked.
Option 2 is the shut-in, much better chance for this, and apart from a longer cooking time, not an expensive option (and if we use the time to take some of the frack juice out of the pipes, even better).
Option 3 (nitrogen) is more expensive but being cold up North, I'd warm to it more if we were in Texas.
Option 4 (chemical & solvents) - cost to buy and later dispose of these substances may be OK on this small scale (just to "prime the pump" and get some results), but probably not viable on a horizontal well.

The team are quite inventive so probably have other options, as Baz once said "I never fail, I simply succeed in disproving a suggested approach" (well it was something like that!).
BTW the principle I was trying to get across was the first method tried is not always the one you think most likely to work - that honour is usually settled on the last method used.
ps. I was joking about the cats, if you've ever tasted one you'd know that
