I have a hunch they didn’t just ST U4 because they were bummed they stuffed it up the first time knowing they hit some oil. I am just not sure it would be worth the time, effort and cost if that’s all it was about. Thinking the clue is the oil/water contact being similar level to original field that now has 1m bbls drawn. What is it that’s telling them? Maybe the U4 structure is seperate and the dynamics will behave entirely differently and water cut won’t be an issue if they crank it up steadily so not to overexcited it... or maybe everything is joined up like a dot-to-dot book and it’s just much bigger than anyone knew.... ? What do I know. Further clues in the QR I think...
