I was suggesting to Yatchy that his hypothesis on the shorts having to buy on market is not the only way of covering - I am not suggesting anything only the timing of the shorts going down was just after Ekkas off market sell.
One possibility is Eric asked his broker to find a buyer so as not to trash the S/P by dumping on market - The broker could have sold them to the short seller - There are several other possible scenarios none of which I would canvass on here.
