Hey mate,
No need for reassurance here.
Of the 99 now giga factories on the plan through till 2028, several plan to open late this year, I’ve yet to read anything about where they intend to get supply? I do realise that it will be a long and slow process for them to realise name plate capacity, but as more of these $billion dollar plants open in the next 3-5 years I would expect to see some news in regard resourcing?
I’m serious, the average giga factory costs between 400 million - billion. I’m certain the investors in these mega factories will not be happy with an assumption their investment will hopefully secure supply?
I’m expecting some massive news on this front in the next 12 months. I’m certain discussions are being had as we speak, where the f$$k are they hoping to source the lithium for these factories.
This is the undisputed signature issue at hand.
Once the constant stream of giga factories open from 2020 onwards how on earth do you anticipate demand, once home storage takes off, VW starts putting out 25 million EVs.
Maybe I’m just thick?
