I appreciate you are trying to paint positive picture but US like many other countries are trialing many drugs and treatments. Matter of fact US was last to accept how serious of a problem covid19 can be. Until 2 weeks ago Trump was saying this is just flue.
Also US is yet to peak (even Trump now accepts that) and New York is already building tent hospitals in Central Park because existing hospitals are overwhelmed. German and Swiss ventilator manufacturers are also overwhelmed with orders with one of the main customers being US. See link below.

Shutting all non essential services is needed to reduce the spread until vaccine or treatment is found.

In regards to risks everyone should be aware that there is possibility for ALK and any other miner to experience disruptions in operations due to infections - ALK was very clear on this in their announcement.

U.S. closed their borders to Chinese people from Wuhan on Jan 30.

U.S. are making ventilators in huge numbers and G.M the car maker is now making great quantities.
