It appears we have another gassy sub-basin on our hands. Enough encouraging results to date to warrant an additional appraisal program in 2021 with a fully desorbed and tested core-hole. Brilliant.

Yangir-1S sits just north of the settlement of Nomgon within the Gobi Desert. A discovery in this basin could nicely link up to the Nomgon sub-basin - ‘Easy terrain for pipelines could readily link up sub-basins’ (P14 Noosa Conference Presentation). This location appears to be chosen from seismic taken during the 2019 program. All this is happening within the southern part of our PSC, as close as you can get to China and its rapidly growing gas market.

Shame about the delayed drill due to Covid, which I assume is the Temee prospect. There’s no doubt that it will be drilled as soon as conditions permit. At least during this time period things were likely to slow down a bit anyway as they said they intended to take a break over the New Year’s period.

If you thought 2020 was eventful, here comes a very active, well funded and exciting 2021 with multiple catalysts!
