Smells bad. Tool problems when taking fluid samples. Before trying to take the samples they would have completed a pressure survey. The pressure survey essentially allows the identification of the saturating fluid (gas, oil or water ) by deriving the density of the fluid within the rock: gas << oil < water. Industry practice is to complete pressure survey first because of the risk of sticking the tool while sampling. No mention in the release of the results of the pressure survey. Not a good look.
Also, notably, they are dont provide any numbers on pay observing resistivity is elevated but not making a statement on hydrocarbon saturation.
Why cant they suspend the well and test next season? If they knew there was not enough time to test this season why did they not say that on Thursday? No reason to hold this for 10 months of inaction after an ambiguous release.
