“The past is not a predictor of the future”
What about technical analysts and chartists? Both are based on examination of past price trends. Anyone looking at historical trend patterns, moving averages, oscillators, support/resistance levels, momentum and volume indicators etc, works on the assumption that the past can be used to help predict the future
