Warning to everyone - do not invest based on what you read on HotCopper, including based on what I write.

Do Your Own Research and form your own views.

When reading posts, my suggestion is to look for ideas that you hadn't thought of, then consider those ideas and form your own view (with more research where appropriate).

While its good to read posts that confirm your views, its even better to read posts with opposing views. Consider them and use that to test your own investment hypothesis. When doing so, I sometimes change my views, sometimes I debunk their views and are more confident in my own. But either way, I usually learn something by considering an opposing view.

@magic2 - sorry to hear that you lost money on your HIO investment but I hope you learnt something and gained knowledge from the process that makes you a wiser investor. I hope you are able to own your investment decisions in the future and not hold others responsible for your decisions. Good luck with your investing.
