I'd hate to put a dampener on your cynical post, in fact you remind me of a former cynic that couldn't get his head around the announcements.

Anyhow, when the Federal Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction says a Fund’s goal is to back projects that could reach a long-term goal of producing hydrogen at $2 per kilogram, and LCK can "significantly better this target producing hydrogen at less than $1 per kilogram" - it warrants news! This is in a market (hydrogen) that is set to grow by 6%-8% annually; not to mention $300 million in funding up for grabs, LCK seem to be very well positioned - it warrants news!

It could be rather fortuitous that LCK's rather enormous gas reserve hasn't been committed to an offtake yet. If you don't like this announcement, hopefully there are some more disruptive ones in the future .
