The timing of this downtrend is just a little too timely. Look at the chart below. We are on the eve of what is traditionally the biggest gold spike of the year. Why wouldn't the big boys start a panic and snap up gold, both shares and physical, very cheaply to maximise their profit.
They will probably try and generate a bit of euphoria as well come early October to maximise the peak before pulling the pin.
