If you don't exercise the AEEO before 30 June they turn into (worthless) pumpkins. Companies do usually notify optionholders before expiry but I think there's no compulsion for them to do so.
The AEEO are so far in the money that I'd do it now and and free up the headspace from thinking about it. Will only cost you 5.2c per option to get a share worth circa 25c. If you're short of cash you could always sell 20% of the new AEE shares issued and recoup your entire cost of converting all the AEEO ...
