GI tract tract endoscopy is carried out very frequently and any lesions such as ulcers are routinely biopsied for malignancy or to show the presence of H. Pylori. which carries a risk of bleeding or perforation. While it might not completely replace invasive biopsies, it might well reduce them if a trial shows high diagnostic accuracy.
