By the definition I see now why the Board would seek a 'legal' option first and foremost, however I wonder what counsel was behind their own lack of understanding regarding 'novel' devices-an adjective used repeatedly in their 26-year announcement history.
Seems the answer was under their noses all the time.
And hindsight does not cut it. A terrific blunder that ran its course despite being doomed at the outset.
