Well much of the same data probably applies to the new application, so no it's not wasted. And there were other things that will need to progress to make it commercially successful like other trials and software. Even though it's not wasted, it does mean a delay in approval since an application needs to work it's way through the system at the FDA.
But as I recall FDA approval of Convivo didn't mean immediate sales for CZM, there was still a lot of work to do. But they do seem to be making progress now.
