I certainly have empathy for your friend and your own situation re OILs 20+ year SP destruction. I am amazed the company is still here TBH. Although I never give stock tips to friends or family (except my daughter with LICs - which are a safe long-term investment), your sharing of your experience reminds me not to suggest specific stocks - especially speccies. I truly hope you see some good SP gains, and your friend gets the support needed to see some positives in the world outside the finances.
