    All my life I thought that a Ton was 2240 pounds
    and a Tonne was a thousand Kilograms
    a Kilogram is 2.2 pounds therefore a Tonne is 2200 pounds

    If I am correct then while there is a difference then it is not that great as to worry calculations too much.
