I get what you are saying, they have everything there to make money, but the problem as I see it is they have tried mining the ground for the last year, and it got them worse nowhere (literally on the brink of collapse for this iteration of the operation).
I think they will end up drilling out more areas where they have found gold to see whether it is feasible or not.
I doubt they can afford to invest any money into looking for lithium though.
There is no curse, there is just not enough gold (where they are mining).
