I think when you say customers values - you mean the "western" customer.
If push comes to solve majority of the world will go where its cheaper.
The rest of the world as yet has not attained the financial security and privilege of the "western" world.
The rest of the world might want good fair ethical practices but they cannot overcome the price factor.
With time eg maybe 20 / 30 years ethical / environmental considerations will grow for the rest of the world
