What do they see that the market obviously hasn't.
The prospective buyers want to split up the assets.
Brookfield want the electricity and gas retail-supply business after missing out on a purchase of AGL.
US-based EIG want their remaining 27.5% stake in Australia Pacific LNG after trying to buy Santos and missing out on a bid to buy part of Origin's share of Australia Pacific LNG.
I guess they see a future in such Australian assets.
Lots going to overseas buyers.
