What I've noticed is that it is not the volume but the "$".
1000 GXY shares = 569 mergeco shares. 100% is 100%. Is there a mention of rounding in any of the announcements? I've found many of the rights / options issues, I've been rounded up to the next share (eg. 123.8 moved to 124).
By way of the ATO, they like you to be accurate, but not anal about tax. $5 they won't hunt you for (says he who got audited last year)...
