"China wants new energy vehicle sales in 2025 to be 25% of all car sales"

This is according to a draft proposal from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

In 2018 28,1 million cars were sold in China. 25% of that figure would mean 7.025 million over 7 times more than will be sold this year. A 7 fold increase in just a little more than 5 years if we assume no overall car market growth from the 2018 level.
