Its a liquid stock (trades a lot)...not many liquid lithium stories out there. Maybe someone is taking a view that Lithium rally is extended or ORE share price is extended or they are just shorting ORE as a pair trade (Buying another lithium miner while shorting this...such pair trades are not uncommon in large liquid names). I no longer have a horse in this race but if i had i wouldn't worry too much about shorting. These things come and go like fads. Short covering (buying shares to offset their short position) can also drive the stock higher and accelerate the up move, if/when that starts.
