Personally I still think there is a bit to go but we will know by Friday when the SVM offer finishes. They legally either have to revise their offer or conditions if it runs out.
AFR reporting a bidding war also makes me sense there is a bit more to go, they always seem to be one step ahead of the play. I agree with most though and think its getting closer and today's change removes any ambiguity that PRU want it and do not want to work with SVM. I think it does also fast track the resolution process which is good for all.
In my opinion, even if SVM dont have many bullets left it financially makes sense for them to just up the bid knowing that PRU will counter. It could either be a bidding war or could be a peace treaty and we will know this by Friday.
SVM puts the deal to +65 would make for interesting viewing but still think PRU win long term.
