@justchilln5 you will find both US, Canadian and European patents that lapse in 2027....and many beyond that. Not misinformation, but incomplete. There are different patents in different geographical locations, not some universal 2027 expiry. They are also extendable....the amount of time depends on which angle OCC took on its extension (various approaches under various jurisdictions....the US generous on big Pharma). Importantly the US and EU ones probably by as much as 10 additional years.

They have to give such allowance as bio technology takes far longer than knocking out a quick gizmo. IP on medical treatments should so obviously be extended to be fit for purpose. The blanket 10 year for most is ridiculous (I can build an app in 3 weeks, some bio tech takes 30 years). This is how companies like OCC get around that, multiple patents on multiple little aspects of the treatment invariably extended.
