    The average value placed on 1P reserves (from the coys I've followed) ranges from $5 to $15. That's why people panicked.

    660,000bbl x 5 = $3.3m
    660,000bbl x 15 = $9.9m

    So the value (to some/most in the market) is only as high as $10m.

    Whether or not this is valid is a matter of opinion.
