A technique used for centuries to acquire assets cheaply - loans that the borrower has no hope of repaying if things turn bad. Soon our management will owe so much money to HNC that HNC will effectively own Compass should HNC decide not to proceed with the original deal. Read the fine print, "if the transaction doesnt complete (eg for stamp duty) all prior payments from HNC will be treated as loans!!!!"

We owe them $72 mill, we have a massive cost overrun that we must fund (not them), and we are now going to borrow more to fast track the sulphides! Wake up and read the tea leaves you fools!
