in terms of reporting, the jvp dont have to report anything, and the reason for the reporting has been to alleviate the stress of the 12 months of waiting. they could just state they are drilling and at what depth. and later release flow results, so the news we are getting is far more than any texan would be comfortable with.

the fact they are say things like encouraging in light of the extreme pressure of secrecy that CP have on the play leaves me in no doubt thats as good as its going to get on the reporting side. its easy to be discouraged and make assumptions, but unless all the facts are known the assumptions that the background gas readings are not good is a huge call if you have no idea of the geology, the formation, and the well conditions and mudweights.

imho the view encouraging stands for a lot.
