Intercepted phone call from Tennant Creek
DRILLER rings GirlFriend from Tennant Creek (No, the girlfriend isn't from Tennant Creek!)
DRILLER: Hey babe, how are you? GF: Not bad, missing you heaps. DRILLER: Tell me about it. Had an absolute horror of a week. Fused 4 bits at $3000 a bit, And it keeps torquing up, a real pain in the rear.. the poly mud mix has been awful. And I have to keep on at the offsider to keep the core sequencing right, mmm... We are only averaging 15 metres a day, really hard rock, the boss is chucking a fit GF: Whateva... Do you realise it is now 5 weeks since you've been home? DRILLER: No way, really? GF: Yeah, it's getting a bit, well you know... DRILLER: I know, I know, but what do want me to do about it? GF: How much longer are you going to be away on this swing? DRILLER: Until we're finished I guess... GF:... .... DRILLER: are you there? GF: I hope it's worth it. DRILLER: Well... GF: Well what? DRILLER: That's the reason for the call. GF: Whaddyamean (NOTE: Idi's Brother) DRILLER: I need you to do something for me. GF: What's up? DRILLER: How much have I got in the bank at the moment? GF: What are you up too DRILLER: Just tell me. GF: Close to $120 thou DRILLER: That'll do, Can you do something for me? GF: You're scaring me. DRILLER: If you'da seen what I did this week, you wouldn't be scared! GF: Tell me. DRILLER: Not over the phone, but you know where I am and what I'm doing don't ya? GF: Yep, are you telling me you've struck DRILLER: Shhhhh Don't say it. But yeah, it looks really impressive. GF: Is this the one you've been waiting for? DRILLER: In all my years... GF: that good? DRILLER: umm, yeah, that good. GF: What do you want me to do? DRILLER: Do you remember a fair while ago I set up a trading account in your name with our bank, but never found any reason to use it? GF: I think so. DRILLER: Can you call the city branch and ask for Matt, he has access to the account. GF: And tell him what? DRILLER: To put it all on the company we are contracted to. You know which one, don't you? GF: Think so. DRILLER: Don't get it wrong. If you want to be sure, call Wayne at work and ask him but act dumb, say your Dad wants to know as he's a bit of a punter. GF: OK. DRILLER: Matt will need you to transfer the money into the account, you can do it over the phone, but can you leave about $5k in the bank, for Justin. GF: Justin??? DRILLER: in case! GF: Very funny. Are you sure about this? DRILLER: Babe I've missed out in the past, but never on something that looked this good. I'm not going to let this one go. If it goes to plan, I can retire haha. GF: really? DRILLER: it looks good babe. But keep it to yourself, it is a bit dodgy but after working like a dog for the past ten years, well I reckon we're due a bit of a reward... Gotta go, the wet mess closes in an hour, I think I'm gunna have a few tonight, we have a day off tomorrow. Can text me once the bank tells you the thing is done? GF: Sure. But are YOU sure? DRILLER: for once, yes, I'm sure. I wouldn't risk everything I've saved over the last few years on a dud. GF: I'm excited. DRILLER: Wish I was there! GF: Tell you what...
