Costs - lets see shareholder relations - im sure instead of returning dividends they could use this supposed cash pile to invest in some real assets - never know on patent issues if something better comes along that suppercedes their patented technology.
Accounting costs - patent legal action costs if any other companies decide to take legal action over patent disputes (all theroy mind you)
