Re the Doctor. Perhaps the diffrence with the magnum frac plug is that it enables each section to be fracced individually.
if the whole horrizontal section gets fracced at the same time then I would expect the frac fluid takes the least path of resistance and may end up following natural fractures in the rock, rather than opening the micro fracs where the other charges were set off in the rest of the fracced sections. Another way of saying this is it localises the frac to one section at a time ensuring each frac is fracced to the max.
