31 May 2011 ASX / Media Release AXIOM EXPANDS ITS MANAGEMENT TEAM ?h Experienced senior appointments to all regions (Head Office, Solomon Islands, Vietnam and Queensland) ?h All new appointees are experienced and come with a proven track record ?h Management to focus on their respective drill programs which begin June/July ?h Axiom announces the resignation of Mr Jack McCarthy as a Director and Chief Geologist Key personnel have been newly appointed to the Axiom Mining Limited (??Axiom?? or the ??Company??) management team, with major exploration activities about to begin in the Solomon Islands, Vietnam and Queensland. All new team members boast a proven track record in their area of expertise and share in Axiom??s strong commitment to delivering value. The expanded team welcomes four new members, including: Chief Geologist, Head Office, Sydney ?V Mr Eamonn Dare Eamonn is an experienced and accomplished geologist and comes to Axiom from Xstrata. In the seven years he spent with Xstrata, Eamonn advanced through many divisions, most recently in Strategic Planning and was one of the most senior geologists at the Mt Isa operations. During his tenure at Xstrata he was responsible for auditing resource estimates, completion and auditing of pre-feasibility study reports, creation and implementation of projects from concept/scoping through to feasibility. Eamonn has also worked with Golder Associates Pty Ltd, where he was part of the expansion of Zinifex??s Century Mine, as well as working on other mines throughout Australia. He has led exploration and feasibility teams, has experience as an engineering and mine geologist and has managed mine expansion teams on world class deposits. Page 2 / 3 Eamonn is the perfect candidate to lead Axiom??s geological team as the Company??s assets move from exploration to feasibility and mine development and follows the resignation of Mr Jack McCarthy as Chief Geologist and Director of Axiom Mining Limited. Jack has been with the Company for many years and has been pivotal in the discovery of a large number of Axiom??s projects. The Board of Directors wish to thank Mr McCarthy for his service to the Company and its shareholders. General Manager, Solomon Islands ?V Mr Trevor Rintoul Trevor Rintoul joins Axiom KB Limited (an 80 per cent owned Axiom subsidiary) as General Manager, bringing with him more than 30 years?? experience in the mining and construction industries. Of significance to this appointment is Trevor??s experience and exceptional record in his previous position at Xstrata as PNG Operations Manager on the world class copper deposit at Frieda River. Here, he was in charge of more than 400 staff, consultants, exploration and engineering teams, including sustainable development reporting and establishing multi-billion dollar budgets. Despite the challenging conditions at Frieda River, he delivered the exploration program ahead of schedule and under budget, all while improving safety. Prior to this, Trevor managed a group of five companies in PNG in the mining and construction industries with a turnover of $200m per annum. As well as being an accomplished Project Manager he is also a civil engineer and pilot. At Axiom KB Limited in the Solomon Islands, Trevor will be supported by an experienced management team which includes Operations and Administration Managers who also come from Xstrata in PNG and other leading resources companies. The Axiom KB Limited management team has a very good understanding of working on world class deposits in the region, speaks Melanesian pidgin and Trevor is currently working on site with Axiom??s landowner partners. Exploration Manager, Queensland ?V Mr Glen Beere Glenn Beere has more than 30 years?? experience in the mining industry, including establishing and leading exploration teams throughout Australia and particularly Queensland. He has implemented and managed projects throughout the exploration and development continuum with great success. Glenn previously worked for Dominion Mining and RGC Exploration and has managed his own business, servicing clients such as Cloncurry Metals, BHP Billiton, Kagara Zinc, Breakaway Resources, and Goldfields Australasia. At BHP, he managed its exploration program throughout the Mt Isa Eastern Succession and he was the Senior Site Executive for all of BHP??s exploration permits in that area Page 3 / 3 Senior Geologist, Vietnam ?V Mr Do Van Vinh Do Van Vinh returns to Axiom with his appointment as Senior Geologist of Axiom Vietnam JSC. Vinh has a very good understanding of the geology in Vietnam and has previously led exploration teams in the region. He has worked on many deposits and mines throughout Vietnam for both international and local Vietnamese mining companies, including one of the world??s largest Tungsten deposits at Nui Phao. In 2007 and 2008, he supervised Axiom??s exploration program at Quang Binh. Axiom??s recruitment program is continuing and the Company will soon announce further appointments, including a senior geologist-laterite specialist at Axiom KB and additions to the Board of Directors of Axiom Mining Limited.
