I spent the wee small hours this morning reading through the ISP report to the Qld Govt.

It is a good read for a couple of reasons but one thing stood out to me. The panel are directing the Qld Govt to formulate specific policies for UCG, very time consuming.

Also the panel have put a rather ridiculous recommendation forward that decommissioning of a commercial sized cavity needs to be successfully demonstrated. Since a commercial panel might operate for several years before it is ready to be decommissioned that poses a problem if that is adhered to.

UCG prospects are going to be first commercialized in countries which have pressing energy needs. These MOU's are where the money is for the foreseeable future IMO.
