Maybe more LT investors in the singapore market than the ASX, a larger portion of short term traders (including HFT) in ASX from what I have found which causes greater fluctuations in the sp (this contradicts the arguement against banning HFT I know but there you go).
I haven't read the Kris announcement yet so comparing the wording of the 2 announcements will also be interesting
