It doesn't, but historically it does or goes close and more likely in a spec stock. Off the top of my head TRY a recent example. SP at ANN about 40c ish. Raise @ 36c. Retrace to 34.5 i think, currently 37.5.
Cap raises can be opportunities to get shares at great prices. If you believe in the company then thats the attitude you should be taking because cheaper shares make bigger profits.
Cap raises can be very good for the SP.
