As a far fetched possibility I would like to throw out the following. Is this a clearing of the decks before corporate activity (ie takeover)? One of the reasons NUP was spun off so AS said was because big investors were interested in RE or U not both. Could ARU be streamlining itself into nothing but RE in anticipation?

BTW while LYC's ann today was good, if you read the terms of the issue (interest capitalised for two years and conversion at a discount at lenders discretion) they will have a heap (and i mean a heap on top of the heap they already have) of issued shares come production time!!
