Likely increase in Ore Reserve at the
Phu Kham Copper-Gold Deposit, Laos
Ongoing infill and resource extension drilling within the ‘north mine area’ of the Phu Kham
copper-gold deposit (Figure 1) has extended mineralisation further to the west and confirmed
copper-gold mineralisation below the existing open pit design.
These latest results, together with previously reported results, provide confidence that the
currently designed open pit will be extended deeper in the northern mine area of the deposit.
Intersections included:
• 60 metres at 1.8% copper and 0.2 g/t gold from a depth of 156 metres
• 63 metres at 0.8% copper and 0.7 g/t gold from a depth of 121 metres
• 102 metres at 0.6% copper and 0.3 g/t gold from a depth of 6 metres
Data from the drilling will form the basis of a new Mineral Resource estimate leading to a
revised open pit design and Ore Reserve which is expected to be completed during the March
quarter 2008.
