It will be interesting to see what comes from ECT's relationship with HRL.

HRL probably has the most industry expertise in Australia which started back in '94 when they acquired the research and development business of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria and the Coal Corporation of Victoria.

Their Driffields project (IDGCC)is a monster at an estimated cost of 750 million which includes significant State and Federal funding to the tune of 50 and 100 million respectively. Most investment is coming from the Chinese.

Curiously, they also own Energy Brix which produces brown coal briquettes.

I wonder the weighting in Kos's statement regarding "ECT's coldry pellets being a serious alternative approach to HRL's IDGCC process".

With ECT testing being conducted for a number of years at the HRL lab you would think HRL are monitoring 'progress' with close scrutiny given their own endeavours.

Perhaps we may see some harmony between the two in the future in terms of investor/partner relationship.Who knows.... but it appears that all doors are being kept open by the large players.

The current politics being played out in Victoria and Australia for that matter, regarding operating costs and carbon credits etc is simply a handbrake being applied by power operators. The idea that some Victorian powerstations will be 'forced' to close is utter nonsense given the current demand for electricity and the fact that there are no suitable alternatives that can generate the same levels of energy output. Also, Melbourne is forecasted to become the largest city in Australia by 2056. Where do you think power generation will come from...hot air from the Government?

Anyway, getting off track a little but hopefully we see committment by the big boys soon.....just need to get the politics sorted. Of course this is just Australia, ECT has the a global market as well.

The EGM should be positive imo and we should also receive a decent serving in terms of progress too.

    Cheers,
