This is an example of good science with the exploration team being able to use the whole rock geochemistry and some pXRF pathfinders to establish a lithological control to the Carbonate-hosted gold mineralisation. This is actually potentially a step change in the knowledge that often gives teams an advantage in that they can open up more exploration search spaces in areas that have been ignored, open up new areas with the right rock exposure at surface and lead them through historical trace element data to new target areas, and also make sense of areas that seemed encouraging but "didn't make sense" in inappropriately designed follow up drilling, and thus may have been ignored or forgotten about.
You can bet that other explorers in similar geology nearby will be doing the same as well with their ground and their existing data sets.
