The epithermal system here has way better grades because a ridgeway style porphyry deposits has a way higher grade. Grade is also increasing at depth. I agree IMHO there could be a few million ounces just at surface.
I suspect they are proceeding methodically and cautiously because whacking a deep DD hole can miss a ridgeway by 50m and the lateral mineralisation grade falls away very quickly. They look to be unpacking this like a boiled egg - from the top down sub vertically. Note for whatever reason Ridgeway itself is blind, whereas the whole pencil porphyry looks to be preserved here. Magnetics are likely being used to accurately map the early phase Monzonite intrusion complex so they can spot / vector where the porphyry system is off the side of this structure. As I said, from the ridgeway experience, you can drop 2-3 expensive DD holes and miss it by 50m. Like Peter’s Boda porphyry discovery drilling, I reckon they will step down plunge following the Au grade. Because the top of Ridgeway itself was eroded away etc, they could not use this approach. Exploration approach here is more like Boda. Look at the deeper epithermal holes drilled into the Boda area just ahead of the porphyry discovery hole to envisage the exploration approach here.
I personally expect the Cadia East style system is further south along the intrusion under cover along the main fault running N-S where that huge IP and mineralised anomaly is. Yes, the higher grade core of Cadia East, originally called Cadia Far East, is more classic stockwork and sheeting veins deeper and to the “far east” from my research.
DYOR! IMHO! Not investment advice! Etc etc!
