Hi there, can't say I know a whole lot about graphite processing. Have done some work with Talga years ago on their flotation step only. Only thing I can add of possible use is benchmarking against Talga's results at the same stage of development. They achieved 95% Cg grade at 91% recovery in the flotation step (roughers and cleaners).

    From TLG Talnode-C PFS:

KNG has achieved similar grades around 94% Cg to Talga (tick) but at much lower recovery of 67-80% vs Talga at 91%. KNG appears to have used many stages of cleaning flotation so upside for improving recovery for KNG may be limited (ash/impurities are within the graphite grains or not liberated at current grind size for ~20% of the graphite).

Below reference to further work reducing number of cleaning stages (implying a relatively high number of cleaning stages was used to get the results reported).

Ultimately, a lower flotation recovery just means more OPEX per unit of concentrate made but depending on scale, mined grade, processing OPEX it could still be economically acceptable at 80% recovery. I don't have enough experience to give a definitive answer on that.
