completely uneducated view from a non-mining background, i'm guessing that the kind of pulverizing required for the IAC extract is nothing close to the energy intensive pulverizing required for hard rock stuff. IAC extract can be crushed by hand like the research paper shows, but I wouldn't think they'd literally crush thousands of tonnes of earth manually by hand and feed it into the tanks!
