For some rough comparison. PLS in their early days did flotation and magnetic separation. They pulled 90% spod recovery at 5.7% lith oxide and 0.37% fe. Magnetic separation after flotation got fe down to 0.11% fe. Which is fantastic and suitable. They then put it through fraction and got it down to 0.09% fe with 6.5% lith oxide. When it came to the pilot plant they were doing 75% recovery at 7.2% lith oxide with 0.14% fe.
