Absolutely - and its interesting to note that the alternative to graphite in Li ion batteries is a solid state battery design which requires several times more lithium to make the anode (rather than the graphite) - there simply will not be enough Li.

IMO the most likely configuration will be Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Cathode, and Graphite Anode for many years to come, except for very high performance batteries which will use LNC or LNMC cathodes, but will impose supply constraints on Ni an Co.
