hey Koi, there is some confusion in terminology so it is an easy to be mistaken. CX is a crossing - same broker putting through both sides of a trade (for different clients). A crossing occurs even where two clients from the same broker hit each other on screen. It is not necessarily off market as that definition suggests (but it can be). Your initial comment seem to be referring to a wash trades (as opposed to a crossing) - same beneficial owner on both sides of a transaction (looking to give a misleading appearance of volumes or move price). Wash trades are banned.
