I'm not an oily, but basic physics tells us that pressure is a measure of resistance to flow; ie the higher the resistance the higher the pressure.
Also, the area of 1.5 inches is not .75 of 2 "............ area of 2' is 3.14 in squared, area of 1.5 inches is about 1.7in squared, or roughly half the size
