Waitsia 4 was using a 5.5 inch production tubing almost 3 times the area, this dramatically reduces friction and was shallower too.
Was it 700psi while flowing, from 4.8km Below , if so as long as downhole pressure stays stable won't matter.
Also lets not confuse pressure with flow rate, the pressure is less at the surface, it's under its own weight, has expanded, and is cooler. ...think of it like High voltage, low current at depth equates to a certain amount of power . At the surface the voltage is less but the current (flow rate) is more ...same same so far but the long , thin tube is the fictional resistance coupled with gravity that gives you less on the surface. ...they need a bigger tube! This will lessen resistance.
It's why they transport electricity long distances at very high voltage low current, much less flow losses. . Then ' transform'it down for the user low voltage high current. Apols if you know all this... Tc
