I'll start with the negatives, I suppose.
Beach have more gas to send down their pipes to customers. This might have implications for Strike down the road in terms of price and volumes they can secure.
However, the BIG positives are:
- Beach have just strengthened the concept that our gas deposits spread all the way west of WE-2, indicating even bigger potential resource upgrades.
- Our net pay is 58 metres for the Kingia compared to 36 meters for Beharra Springs Deep, suggesting more gas which will be cheaper to extract on a per-well basis (ignoring transmission costs).
All of this only strengthens the case that we are sitting on a much bigger resource than anyone suspected, and further de-risks the takevoer proposition for any multinational looking for a potential 20 years of gas supply (although the last thing I want is a takeover).
