Unfortunately the term "users" is extremely vague in what it means, as it hasn't been elaborated by the Company.
Is this the number of unique installs of the app?
Is this the number of unique people signing up for a (free) account?
Have they included in their metrics people who install then uninstall within 24hrs as a "user"?
These factors have everything to do with potential revenue. Because if 50% of the "users" downloaded the app, then uninstalled, there goes half of the "user" base. Then with the remaining 50% they only have 1% actually using the app on a daily basis then that cuts down exposure again exponentially.
The real metrics that need to be known include how many returning 'users' on a daily (or monthly) basis, how many sign ups (free accounts) they have (weekly/monthly), clickthru rates, subscriptions etc. For all we know there could be only 36,000 regular users (1% of the 3.6m announced unique users) from which they need to try and monetize from... Knowing some additional statistics would put me at ease, because reality is they're taking an awfully long time to create revenue from such a huge 'user' base.
