That "existing well" on your map? It's a hole from the 2019 drilling that instead of being capped, was registered as a well. It has never produced any water, but AZL knew that water was found at that level. The existing well on the Hualapai land has water at a higher level, although the groundwater in the entire area is being depleted, mostly by the Bagdad mine wells.
The Hualapai would have asked for 3km so that BLM could reduce it to 1km. But even your map shows that AZL caved in and sent its drill rigs home, rather than exploring the 30 proposed sites that were more than 3km away. Truth is, they were afraid of what they would find there: Not enough lithium to support scraping it away.
